International Partnership Scheme
Colleges or universities can sign up on behalf of their students. This then allows both their international and British students to use the facilities we have to offer. To see a list of the current members of our International Partnership Scheme please click here.
International Students House is a social, cultural and welfare centre for British and International Students. Nearly all educational institutes in London are members with the exception of a few small specialist private colleges.
Our membership year runs from 1st of October to 30th September every year. Our members benefit from the use of all of our facilities and can get involved with the various activities and events at ISH. At ISH we don’t just stop after the freshers period, we are active all year round! Here are just some of the things that our student members can look forward to and get involved in:
- Travel Club - our ever popular and heavily subscribed club is subsidised by 50% providing students with the chance to explore all over the UK, Europe and even further afield at a discounted rate. Trips last year included Cairo, New York, Florence, the Amalfi Coast, Bath, Stonehenge, Edinburgh and many more.
- Lectures and debates - our series of lectures feature a varied list of speakers such as an ex Guantanamo Bay prisoner and MPs.
- Sunday Cinema - every Sunday we show a recent film. Past films have included the remake of Alice in Wonderland, The Bounty Hunter and Clash of the Titans. This is completely free for our members and they are invited to bring their own popcorn and snacks and enjoy the film.
- Culture Nights - these speak for themselves but they are a lot of fun and enable all students to get a feel for other cultures: Bollywood dance workshop, Japanese Tea Party, Graffiti workshop to name but a few.
- Theatre Club – a monthly theatre trip for students wanting to experience a West End production. Once again all of the tickets are subsidised beating those Box Office prices.
Lets not forget the various sports classes running each week, our karaoke nights, live music and DJ’s. We also provide cheap tickets for various London attractions and our very popular Royal Albert Hall tickets which are up to 60% discounted!
On the other side of things we have the more serious issue of hardship funds that we have available to member students. We also have an extremely popular scholarship programme which last year, in conjunction with our co-sponsors, saw the number of scholarships rise to nearly 50 students with funding for this academic year just shy of an incredible £1,000,000! We provide a full welfare service with appointments available all week to discuss any personal matters of concern or cases for hardship funds.
So as you can see we have a great deal to offer your students and a lot of things for them to get involved in, plus there is the annual reception for you to attend to enjoy a drink and some networking.
