International Students House (ISH) and our sister charity, International Students Trust, provide a range of Residential Scholarships for students from the developing world. The Residential Scholarships for students from the developing world. The Residential Scholarship provides free accommodation at ISH for up to a year, and in exceptional circumstances up to three years.
The majority of Scholarships are for Postgraduate courses, however we also grant Scholarships for Undergraduate Students. Nearly all of our Scholarships are co founded with the academic Institution who ensure a tutition fee waiver. All of our Scholarships are designed to give students from the developing world an opportunity to study in London and to acquire skills and training that will allow them, when they return home, to work and aid their country's development.

ISH African Students Bursary
The ISH African Bursary has been running for more than eight years in association with SOAS and it provides one African student a year access to studying in London, allowing that individual to return home with invaluable information that will benefit their country’s development. The first ever student to receive this bursary was Saidu Bangura from Sierra Leone who studied Development Studies.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme.
Each year in partnership with the Association of Commonwealth Universities and the University of Westminster we provide Scholarships for three Postgraduate Students currently working for a Commonwealth University, in the fields of Human Resources and Public Relations.
Another Scholarship is offered to a student in the field of Broadcasting in association with the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and the University of Westminster.

The East Timor Scholarship
This Scholarship is offered to students from East Timor who are embarking on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the University of Westminster and London Metropolitan University.
The East Timor Scholarship has been running for seven years and is able to fund three students through their degrees. The Scholarship is offered in conjunction with The Al-Kameli Trust.
The Ken Bird Memorial Scholarship
Ken Bird was formerly Chair of Westminster University’s Technology and Design Department. This scholarship reflects Ken’s interest in South Asia as well as his desire to help provide educational opportunities for women. The family of Ken Bird will take an active role in the choice and welfare of the scholar. The Scholarship is awarded jointly with University of Westminster.
Preference will be given to a female student from India or Sri Lanka who holds an offer for a full time undergraduate degree in a technology based subject. The Scholarship will be renewed each year based on academic performance.
Tara Nirula International Students House (ISH/LCF)
Tara Nirula was an exceptional young woman whose vitality lit up International Students House and her kindness touched everyone’s hearts. All who came into contact with her loved her and their lives were enriched by knowing her. Tara was an amazing person who never failed to make us smile and every moment spent with her was an enjoyable one. Her enthusiasm for life and her kindness will remain with us always. Tara’s life was sadly cut short but her passion for the arts can survive through the opportunity this scholarship will give to other young people.
The William Ross Murray Scholarship
The Alumni Association of International Students House (Goats) established this commemorative Scholarship in 2001 to celebrate the life of Bill Murray, the House’s previous Director.
The Tara Nirula ISH/LCF Graduate Scholarship is a combined tuition fee and residential scholarship offered to international students from India with the ability and potential to make an exceptional contribution to the worlds of art, design, communication and performance. Applications are encouraged from those who feel they will benefit from further study to realise their full potential.
The Tara Nirula ISH/LCF Graduate Scholarship will be offered annually and is the product of a partnership between International Students House and London College of Fashion, one of the UK's leading Institutions for fashion studies. For more information and how to apply please click here
This scholarship is for postgraduates who wish to study Law in London. The Scholarship is normally provided in partnership with the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).
