International Students House was honoured to welcome our Patron, HRH Princess Anne, The Princess Royal, to officially open our newest residence at Kennington Lane, Vauxhall, a landmark moment in our 60-year history of supporting students in London.
The visit marks the culmination of years of planning and hard work to expand our community and welcome even more students from around the world to a true home away from home.
A New Chapter for ISH
The Kennington Lane building adds 185 rooms to our accommodation offering, joining our long-standing home at Great Portland Street and our Blain House residence. Designed with the same values that have defined ISH since 1965, the new House reflects our continued commitment to community, belonging, and support for students navigating life far from home, providing safe, affordable, and enriching places to live for the next generation of university students.
During her visit, Princess Anne toured the residence and met with ISH leadership, staff, alumni, current residents, and partners who have supported the project. The official opening was sealed with the unveiling of a plaque.
This expansion is a direct reflection of our strategic vision of transforming the lives of young people and strengthens our ability to deliver on that promise across London.
We are grateful to our Patron for her continued support of International Students House, and to all the staff, partners, donors, and students who helped bring the House in Vauxhall to life.
