International Students House

Thank You

International Students House

ISH exists because people believe in what it stands for. The students who find community here, the residents who carry ISH with them long after they leave, the House we’ve built in Vauxhall; none of it happens without the generosity of people like you.

Some students arrive at ISH not knowing a single person in this city. A gift from you contributes to their wellbeing, their chance to belong somewhere new and their opportunity to pursue an education in London.

ISH gave me one of the happiest years of my life. I hope every student who calls it home finds the same joy, friendship, and create memories and friendships as meaningful as mine.
Lúcia Tomaz
May ISH always continue to be the most outstanding example of international education, collaboration and friendship (Ian Barry, former trustee)

These walls will hold more than students - they will hold late night laughter, quiet ambition, lifelong friendships and the restless energy of creative minds
Joe Caplin
I was a resident at ISH from October 1975 to June 1979, a period that remains one of the best times of my life. During those years, I formed lasting friendships with people who now live and work around the world. ISH was foundational in shaping both my personal and professional journey as a lawyer. ISH has encouraged me to participate in boards of many universities and not-for-profit corporations. Now I am a partner at the global law firm, Greenberg Traurig LLP. I encourage students coming to ISH to carry on the ethos of Mary Trevelyan and John D. Rockefeller.
Kalyan "Kal" Das
If these walls could talk, they would tell the story of a true home away from home. Living at the International Students House was far more than having a place to stay; it was becoming part of a welcoming family built on friendship, understanding, and shared experiences. Through meaningful conversations, celebrations, and everyday moments, I gained a deeper appreciation of diversity and mutual respect. The friendships formed within these walls strengthened my belief in the importance of cultural exchange and positive international relations.
Dr. Dawn Evans
I was a resident of ISH from 1976 to 1980 and currently an Honorary Fellow of the Governors of International Students House, a Life Vice President of Goats International and a Member of the Assembly. I have been involved with ISH through supporting its mission of promoting international understanding among people of different backgrounds, fostering global peace and encouraging unity among nations. I value ISH’s commitment to building meaningful connections and strengthening harmony within the international community.

A home away from home during my six years' residency whilst pursuing postgraduate and doctoral studies. It provided an incredible platform for academic success and overall growth and development. Thank you!

It has been a pleasure to be CEO of ISH since 2016, helping with the teams and partners to deliver the new building at 238 Kennington Lane. This will help secure the Legacy of the charity for the next 100 year +. The charity gives so much to so many and this is extending Mary Trevelyan's dream.

Some of my fondest memories of London are from my time spent at ISH. Wish many more get to experience the friendships, the madness & the support that life at the house has to offer.
Akshay Kapur
My mother and father stayed at ISH and actually met there. Later, my sister stayed at ISH as well, and I’m sure I’ll be following the family footsteps soon too. Thank you.
