On Saturday, 13 December 2025, International Students House was filled with warmth, laughter, and festive cheer as we hosted our annual Senior Citizens Christmas Lunch, a much-loved tradition that brings generations together at the most special time of year.

Organised by the ISH Events Team, the afternoon was a celebration of community, kindness, and connection. From the moment our senior guests arrived, they were welcomed into a space thoughtfully prepared to feel joyful and inclusive, complete with good food, conversation, and a shared sense of belonging.

A vital part of what made the day so special was the incredible support of our ISH resident volunteers, who gave their time, energy, and care throughout the event. They helped serve food, engaged in meaningful conversations, and ensured that every guest felt seen, listened to, and valued. Their warmth and attentiveness truly embodied the spirit of ISH.

We extend heartfelt thanks to Marco Perez, Diana Catana, Merveille Dingamou, Alaa Zam, Katie Thomas-Canfield, Lakshina Bajracharya, Huong Ha, Naren Shanka, Triveni Goswami, Eugene McKee, Arya Güneş, and Emmanuel Tumsifu for their generosity and enthusiasm. Their willingness to connect across generations turned a festive lunch into a memorable experience for everyone involved.

For many of our senior guests, the afternoon offered not only a Christmas meal but companionship and conversation, small moments that carry great meaning. For our residents, it was a chance to give back to the local community and experience the joy that comes from shared humanity.

Events like this remind us what ISH is all about: bringing people together, fostering understanding, and creating spaces where everyone feels they belong. As we continue to celebrate the festive season, we do so with gratitude for the community that makes moments like these possible.
