I joined the Board of Governors in 2017 and I am the Vice Chair.

I am a member of the House of Lords and have been a government minister in the departments of Wales, Northern Ireland, Energy and Climate Change and Housing, Communities and Local Government.

I was previously a Professor of Law at what is now the  University of Trinity St.David and later leader of the Welsh Conservatives in the Welsh Assembly ( later the Welsh Parliament).

I am a graduate of the University of Aberystwyth and also of Cambridge. I qualified as a barrister.
