We understand that moving to London can be daunting. ISH offers comfortable, safe, and welcoming accommodation across two vibrant London neighbourhoods — GPS House in the Knowledge Quarter and our brand-new residence, Kennington House in Vauxhall.
Wherever you live, you’ll be supported as you settle in, make new friends, and explore everything London has to offer.
International Students House – Great Portland Street
Our House at Great Portland Street sits within London’s Knowledge Quarter (KQ) – a one-mile radius around King’s Cross recognised as one of the highest concentrations of knowledge-based institutions, scientific organisations, and creative industries in the world. This unique ecosystem brings together world-class universities, research institutes, libraries, cultural organisations, media companies, and pioneering tech and life sciences businesses
Living in the Knowledge Quarter means being surrounded by inspiration. Within minutes, you can reach the British Library, the Alan Turing Institute, the Wellcome Collection, UCL, the Royal Academy of Music, and the BBC — along with new headquarters for Google, Facebook, McKinsey & Co., the Institute of Physics, and Aga Khan University. It is a neighbourhood that blends intellectual energy, cultural richness, and excellent transport links, making it an exceptional base for students from around the world.
International Students House – Vauxhall
Our House at 238 Kennington Lane offers another dynamic and exciting way to experience London. Located in one of the city’s most connected riverside districts, it places you within a short journey of some of London’s most popular universities — including King’s College London (Waterloo and Strand campuses), London South Bank University, University of the Arts London (UAL), and the London School of Economics (LSE). With excellent tube, bus, and rail links, you can get to central London in minutes.
Vauxhall itself is a lively, multicultural neighbourhood known for its energy and creativity. Just around the corner is The Oval, one of the world’s most historic international cricket grounds, alongside parks and green spaces perfect for studying or relaxing outdoors. The area also borders Kennington, home to the Imperial War Museum, independent cafés, community art spaces, and a warm residential feel. A short walk takes you to the River Thames, where you can enjoy scenic routes toward Westminster, Southbank, and Battersea Power Station.
From riverside walks to vibrant nightlife, from cultural institutions to peaceful neighbourhood pockets, Vauxhall offers students a well-balanced London experience with everything within easy reach.
