Susan Makin

Amran Mohamed
Susan Makin

A Liverpudlian, who moved to ’70s London for University, Susan lived at ISH from 1979 to 1981 (Great Portland St, then York Terrace). ISH offered sanctuary, as well as helped introduce her to the wider world. New friends from all over conjured fresh perspectives. These, ultimately, gave her courage to explore relocation opportunities overseas. Susan’s original oil on linen painting, “50 Goats,” (which hangs at the Great Portland Street facility), celebrates a beautiful relationship with the House and Goats Alumnae. Susan always enjoys grazing, herding, and connecting with a variety of Goats and others—from Canada to Israel, and beyond.
