I joined the board in 2018/19. Previously I was Chairman of the International Students Trust since merged with the House.

I have a degree in economics from the LSE and was a student living at ISH in the early to mid-1970s. I am a Fellow of certain learned societies.

My career has been in stockbroking, merchant and investment banking, mainly in asset management. After 23 years as a Director at HSBC, following a main board position at Kleinwort Benson, I spent some years as a Non-Executive Director in an FTSE 250 industrial company.

Outside of my career, I have been High Sheriff of Greater London, an Alderman of the City of London, a Visiting Professor at two Universities, a charity trustee and head of several City institutions among numerous international humanitarian and other “pro bono” involvements.
